Data Scientist (Contract)

Location: UK / Europe (Remote-first)
Duration: Initial 12 month contract, outside IR35
 

We're supporting a leading global organisation undergoing a significant data and operational transformation programme. As the business continues to invest in advanced analytics, forecasting and AI readiness, they are seeking a Data Scientist with a strong mathematical background to help establish trusted, data-driven decision making across a large-scale international operation.

This role would suit someone who has worked within complex global organisations and understands how to navigate multiple stakeholders, diverse data sources and large-scale operational environments. Beyond technical capability, we're looking for someone who can confidently explain the logic behind their models and communicate complex concepts in a way that drives business confidence and adoption.

Experience Required

• Strong academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Data Science or a related quantitative discipline
• Experience working within large, complex or global organisations
• Proven experience building predictive and forecasting models from multiple data sources
• Strong understanding of statistical modelling techniques and analytical methodologies
• Ability to clearly articulate model outputs, assumptions and recommendations to business stakeholders
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with both structured and semi-structured data

Desirable Experience

• Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical and Physical)
• Data Architecture exposure
• Forecasting, planning, scheduling or operational optimisation projects
• Experience supporting organisations on their data maturity or AI readiness journey
