Project Manager - Tax Transition Project (Contract) Location: London - Remote, occasional travel to office Contract Length: 6 months initially Day Rate: Inside IR35 Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with experience in tax transition-focused projects or exposure to tax-related projects. This candidate will lead and enhance our Project Management Office. The role will play a critical part in shaping governance, driving best practices, and ensuring alignment between project delivery and organisational strategy. You will work closely with senior leadership to provide oversight across project, programme, and portfolio delivery, ensuring robust governance, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Strategic Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders Align project and programme outcomes with wider organisational strategy Project Governance Design, implement, and continuously improve governance frameworks Ensure consistency, compliance, and effective oversight across all projects Reporting and Analysis Lead the development of high-quality reporting and dashboards Analyse portfolio data to provide actionable insights and support strategic decisions PMO Best Practices Establish and enhance PMO standards, processes, and documentation Drive a culture of excellence and continuous improvement Innovative Solutions Implement scalable and sustainable project management solutions Leverage technology to improve efficiency and delivery outcomes Risk Management Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across projects Ensure risks are effectively managed in alignment with business priorities Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop PMO team members Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment Essential Skills & Experience PMO Leadership Extensive experience leading PMOs in complex, fast-paced environments Strong focus on governance, controls, and delivery assurance Analytical Thinking Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities Proven ability to interpret data and influence decisions Stakeholder Engagement Demonstrated success working with senior stakeholders and executives Strong ability to align delivery with business goals Attention to Detail Highly detail-oriented with the ability to challenge constructively Ensures clarity and alignment throughout project lifecycles Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Strong experience with project tools such as MS Project, JIRA, and Confluence Working knowledge of AI technologies and a proactive approach to learning and innovation Please note: It is essential that you have experience delivering tax transition or transformation programmes.
