About the Role
This is a long-term supply position, providing consistency and the opportunity to become an integral part of the school community. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils’ learning and development, both in and out of the classroom.
The role may involve working with small groups or providing 1:1 support, including supporting pupils with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
Provide targeted support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assist in managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources
Support pupils’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing
Encourage positive participation and engagement in lessons
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff
Requirements
Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
A patient, caring, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Flexibility and commitment to a long-term role
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Desirable
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Experience supporting pupils with SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, SEMH)
Experience working within UK primary schools
