Direct Hire | Onsite | $90 - $105K depending on experience
Summary
We are seeking a Senior Production Planner with government contracting experience and a strong background in production planning and scheduling. This role is responsible for developing and executing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to support on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and contract compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on capacity, materials, and contract requirements
Partner cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Materials, and Program Management to ensure alignment
Monitor schedule performance and report on key metrics and delivery timelines
Support contract compliance and program execution across multiple stakeholders
Manage demand planning, purchase requisitions, and production flow through shipment
Drive process improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency and operational performance
Execute procurement activities for complex components in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and ITAR
Analyze MRP/ERP demand, issue RFQs/RFPs, and evaluate supplier quotes
Support supplier negotiations and maintain strong vendor relationships
Qualifications
5+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment
Required: Government/DoD contracting experience (FAR/DFARS, ITAR)
Strong experience with Master Scheduling, MRP/ERP systems, and materials planning
Ability to manage complex schedules and cross-functional coordination
Experience with supplier management, procurement, and cost analysis preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables), Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Hands-on planner who can hit the ground running
Experience in high-mix, regulated manufacturing environments
Ability to balance production demands, material constraints, and contract requirements
