Senior Electrical Engineer – Hyperscale Data Centre

We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join one of Europe's leading data centre contractors on a major hyperscale data centre project in Amsterdam.
 

This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of Europe's most technically advanced mission-critical projects, supporting the delivery of complex electrical systems from installation through to commissioning and handover.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in coordinating and managing the electrical delivery of the project, working closely with design teams, subcontractors, BIM teams and project management to ensure systems are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete electrical design reviews to identify design gaps and clashes.
• Raise RFIs to resolve technical queries and design issues.
• Validate cable sizing, containment and electrical equipment selection.
• Manage technical submittals through the approval process.
• Track procurement, delivery and verification of electrical equipment.
• Carry out electrical system walk-downs and quality inspections.
• Coordinate electrical installations alongside BIM and other disciplines.
• Lead and support subcontractors on all technical aspects of the project.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and health & safety requirements.
• Support commissioning, testing and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain project documentation and document control throughout delivery.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (trade background advantageous).
• 5+ years' experience in a similar role with an M&E contractor.
• Previous Data Centre or Mission Critical project experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, cable containment and installation.
• Experience reviewing IFC drawings and technical specifications.
• Familiar with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work within fast-paced construction environments.
