Overview
If you are energized by the strategic side of taxation as much as the technical execution, this Tax Manager –High-Net-Worth role offers the opportunity to deliver sophisticated tax advisory and wealth transition planning services. You will partner with high-net-worth individuals, families, and their advisors to navigate complex individual income tax, fiduciary tax, gift tax, and estate tax matters, while providing leadership within a collaborative public accounting environment.
This role blends advanced tax compliance, estate and trust planning, client relationship management, and team leadership, with meaningful exposure to multi-generational wealth strategies and business succession planning.
Key Responsibilities
Your work will combine technical expertise, advisory strategy, and leadership oversight, including:

Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, corporations, and nonprofit organizations

Oversee fiduciary income tax (Form 1041), individual income tax (Form 1040), estate tax (Form 706), and gift tax (Form 709) engagements

Evaluate tax positions across individuals, trusts, and estates to identify tax planning opportunities, income distribution strategies, and estate preservation solutions

Lead full-cycle tax compliance and tax planning engagements, ensuring adherence to IRS regulations and quality control standards

Interpret estate planning documents, trust agreements, and succession planning instruments to align tax strategies with legal structures

Conduct and document technical tax research on complex trust, estate, and wealth transfer issues

Collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors, and internal teams on business succession planning, cash flow modeling, charitable giving strategies, and private foundation compliance

Provide proactive client advisory services, delivering clear guidance on wealth transfer, risk mitigation, and tax efficiency

Review workpapers, mentor staff, and support performance development to strengthen technical competency and engagement management skills

Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal development, client relationship expansion, industry research, and professional networking
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Active CPA license required;JD or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also considered

5+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on high-net-worth tax compliance and estate planning

Strong technical foundation in tax accounting principles, IRS regulations, fiduciary taxation, and wealth transfer tax law

Demonstrated experience with individual income tax, estate and gift tax, trust taxation, and flow-through entity taxation

Exposure to private foundations and nonprofit tax compliance preferred

Ability to manage complex engagements with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and risk assessment capability

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax concepts into practical client guidance

Proven ability to build long-term client relationships and contribute to firm growth initiatives
