Childrens Disability Support Worker
We are currently recruiting for a Childrens Disability Support Worker to join our Tarasis Healthcare Division!
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Up to 23.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
Location: Sligo
Role Overview
We are looking for a patient, energetic, and empathetic children’s disability Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide tailored support as directed by the care and support plan to children with various physical, learning, or sensory disabilities. Your goal is to support them with physio directed exercise programs, participate in fun activities to assist with communication and learning. To support educational needs with assistance with homework and other tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Person-Centred Care: Deliver support according to the child's Person Centred Plan (PCP) and individual care plans.
- Skill Building: Support educational and developmental goals through play, communication exercises, and social interaction.
- Emotional Support: Provide a safe, stable environment and use positive behaviour support strategies to manage challenging moments.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate daily records, statistics, and reports in line with GDPR and Children First national guidance
- Physio directed program: Assist children to complete physio directed program

- Reliability: Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings
What we require from you
- Education: QQI Level 5 Early Childhood Care and Education
- Clearance: Must undergo Garda Vetting and provide police clearance for any other jurisdictions lived in for 6+ months.
- Driving: A full, clean Irish driving licence and access to your own vehicle for community-based roles is often required.
- Health: Must be in a state of health that allows for regular and efficient service.
- Essential experience – A minimum of 1 years paid experience working with children with additional needs.
