Java Architect / Tech Lead

You will be joining a long-term initiative (planned for 2-3 years) to drive their technological direction.</p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>We are looking for a Java Architect / Tech Lead who will also wear the hat of a Tech Lead within a Scrum team. This is a hands-on role where you will actively code in Java while making high-level architectural decisions, mentoring developers, and working closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.</p><h3>Quick Facts</h3><p><span><strong>Salary: </strong>Up to 175 PLN/h (B2B)</span></p><p><span><strong>Location: </strong>Warsaw, Poland</span></p><p><span><strong>Work Model: </strong>Hybrid (3 days office, 2 days remote)</span></p><p><span><strong>Duration: </strong>Long-term</span></p><h3>What You Will Do</h3><ul><li><p>Act as the Tech Lead in a Scrum team, driving technological direction and architectural decisions.</p></li><li><p>Actively code and implement business requirements using <strong>Java</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Design, develop, and scale microservices and distributed systems.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate directly with the Product Owner and business units to refine requirements.</p></li><li><p>Establish and enforce technical standards across coding, architecture, and system integration.</p></li><li><p>Conduct code reviews, mentor the development team, and unblock technical issues.</p></li><li><p>Ensure end-to-end observability, security, and high performance of the solutions.</p></li><li><p>Actively utilize cloud solutions (Azure) and Agentic AI tools to automate processes and boost development productivity.</p></li></ul><h3>What We Expect (Must-Have)</h3><ul><li><p><strong>5+ years of experience</strong> in designing and building web systems.</p></li><li><p>Strong, hands-on programming skills in <strong>Java</strong> in a production environment.</p></li><li><p>Proven track record of building microservices and distributed systems.</p></li><li><p>Deep understanding of architectural/integration patterns, API design, and <strong>Domain-Driven Design (DDD)</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Practical knowledge of relational databases (SQL), Event-Driven Architecture, and application security.</p></li><li><p>Experience with containerization and orchestration (<strong>Docker, Kubernetes</strong>).</p></li><li><p>Previous experience in mentoring, code review, and leading a technical team.</p></li><li><p>Fluent Polish and advanced English (minimum B2).</p></li></ul><h3>Nice to Have</h3><ul><li><p>Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, with a strong preference for <strong>Azure</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with Agentic AI / AI in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for automation and architectural decision support.</p></li></ul><h3>What Is Offered</h3><ul><li><p><strong>B2B Contract:</strong> Up to 175 PLN/h.</p></li><li><p><strong>Work Arrangement:</strong> 40 hours per week in a hybrid model (Warsaw office).</p></li><li><p><strong>Culture:</strong> A highly collaborative environment inspired by a flat, Swedish organizational culture.</p></li><li><p><strong>Support:</strong> Transparent terms of service and continuous support from the recruitment team throughout your engagement.</p></li></ul>
