About the Role

<p>Seeking an experienced substation engineer ready to lead high-voltage projects in the Houston, TX area. Be a key player in shaping critical infrastructure from start to finish. This role offers the chance to lead complex projects, mentor engineers, and contribute to innovative designs across various substations.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>

<p>Lead substation projects from concept design to completion, overseeing every step of the process.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Create comprehensive substation design packages, covering layouts, protective relaying, control systems, grounding, and more.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Conduct advanced calculations and system designs for various components.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Produce design sketches, cost estimates, equipment specifications, and other essential project elements.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Implement best practices and industry standards while enhancing internal processes.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Perform field inspections and offer technical expertise on utility projects.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Identify and solve challenges to ensure project success.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Mentor junior engineers and oversee project teams to maintain high-quality standards.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Develop client relationships and participate in proposal efforts.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field along with 7+ years of substation experience; or</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology with FE completion and 7+ years of experience.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and technical skills.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication abilities.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to creatively apply engineering knowledge to solve complex problems.</p>
