<p><strong>Senior Category Manager needed in East London Paying £450 per day ref 133003</strong></p>
<p><strong>Full time hours on a temporary basis</strong></p>
<p> We are seeking an experienced <strong>Senior Category Manager</strong> to join a dynamic procurement and commercial team, leading the delivery of high-value construction, regeneration, housing development, and capital works procurements.</p>
<p>This is a strategic yet hands-on role where you will provide expert procurement and commercial leadership across a diverse portfolio of construction projects. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will lead end-to-end procurement activity, manage complex tender processes, develop commercial strategies, and ensure contracts deliver value, quality, and successful project outcomes.</p>
<p>The role requires someone who is confident managing multiple procurement projects, drafting procurement documentation, advising stakeholders, influencing decision-making, and driving procurement best practice throughout the project lifecycle.</p>
</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the procurement of major construction, regeneration, housing, capital works, and professional services contracts.</li>
<li>Develop and implement category and procurement strategies aligned to business objectives.</li>
<li>Manage end-to-end procurement processes from market engagement through to contract award and mobilisation.</li>
<li>Produce and oversee tender documentation, specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract terms.</li>
<li>Provide commercial advice and procurement guidance to project teams and senior stakeholders.</li>
<li>Lead supplier negotiations and support effective contract management throughout delivery.</li>
<li>Develop procurement project plans ensuring compliance with legislation, governance, programme deadlines, and budget requirements.</li>
<li>Manage procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise commercial and legal exposure.</li>
<li>Promote sustainable procurement, social value, and responsible sourcing principles.</li>
<li>Support supplier relationship management and continuous improvement initiatives.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with Public Procurement Regulations and internal governance requirements.</li>
</ul>
