Pink Tile Education are recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Worthing. This rewarding role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), many of whom may display challenging behaviours including verbal and physical behaviours.
You will be working within small classroom settings alongside the class teacher and other teaching assistants, helping to create a safe, structured and positive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Support primary-aged pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assist with managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies
Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver engaging learning activities
Encourage emotional regulation, confidence and social development
Maintain a calm, safe and nurturing classroom environment
Build positive and consistent relationships with pupils
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Personal or professional experience supporting children or young people with SEND
Confidence working with challenging behaviour, including verbal and physical behaviours
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their potential
