We’re excited to share that CPM is featured again in Biofuels International!

In his article “The Hidden Cost of Complexity,” Brock Harrington—our Global Alternative Fuels and Industrial Sales Director—discusses a recent independent study verifying the energy and maintenance benefits offered by CPM’s direct drive pelleting technology.

Some highlights:

• The direct drive system used between 48 and 55 kWh/ton of finished pellets (compared to the 60-75 kWh/ton of conventional systems)
• Direct drive used ~20% less energy
• Die life reached up to 1,500 hours, and the dies maintained sufficient integrity to be refurbished and reused
• Vibration levels were so low that operators were able to balance a cigarette upright on the machine frame, highlighting the machine’s stability during operation
