About the role:
We are currently recruiting for a creative and dedicated
Art Teacher to join a
Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in
Manchester on a full-time, long-term basis starting in September. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to supporting young people who may face barriers to mainstream education. The successful candidate will use art and creativity as a tool to engage students, build confidence, encourage self-expression, and support both academic and personal development within a structured and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons tailored to the individual needs of KS3 and KS4 pupils.
- Use creative approaches to promote engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and personal growth.
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting lessons where necessary to meet individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for students.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Art at secondary level.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students who may be disengaged from education.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
