Interim Head of Finance

This Interim Head of Finance role sits within a fast‑growing, founder‑led business and is well‑suited to someone from a start‑up or scale‑up background. The position offers full ownership of the finance function at a pivotal stage of growth.

As the first dedicated Finance Lead, you will take responsibility for day‑to‑day finance operations while building the structure, systems and controls required to support scale. The role combines hands‑on delivery with strategic input, working closely with senior leadership to provide clear financial insight and support commercial decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end finance function, including management and statutory reporting, payroll and payments
• Build and optimise scalable finance systems and processes
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management
• Support fundraising activity, board reporting and investor readiness
• Manage audit, tax and regulatory requirements
• Act as a trusted finance partner to senior leadership

Experience Required

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Proven experience in a start‑up or scale‑up environment
• Comfortable operating hands‑on while providing strategic insight
• Strong modelling and analytical skills
• Clear, confident communication with non‑finance stakeholders
