About the Role
West Berkshire is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and families, conducting home visits, and developing intervention plans that promote positive outcomes. Your expertise will be essential in working collaboratively with families, other professionals, and agencies to deliver effective safeguarding practices.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risks and needs.
Developing and implementing child protection plans in partnership with families and relevant stakeholders.
Maintaining accurate and timely records of casework activities and outcomes.
Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategy discussions.
Providing support and guidance to families to promote positive parenting and family dynamics.
To be considered for this role, you must possess a recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Additionally, you should have experience in child protection and safeguarding, along with a solid understanding of relevant legislation and best practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a varied caseload.
