Year 6 SEND Teaching Assistant Leeds

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Year 6 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the LS18 area of Leeds from September 2026. This full-time role offers an ongoing opportunity, with a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will support pupils with additional needs within a Year 6 class, helping them access learning, build confidence, and prepare for a successful transition into secondary education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted support for Year 6 pupils with SEND needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour.
• Deliver interventions to support academic progress, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff to implement support plans.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting.
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to learning and behaviour support.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Confidence supporting pupils within an upper KS2 classroom environment.
• A commitment to helping pupils achieve their individual targets and reach their full potential.
