About the Role

An aerospace technology company developing autonomous unmanned systems for public safety and defense applications. The company specializes in advanced flight control systems, real-time video transmission, autonomous navigation, and sensor integration for law enforcement, firefighting, search and rescue, and tactical operations serving agencies nationwide.

The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will design and implement real-time flight control software for autonomous UAV platforms, develop sensor integration algorithms, and optimize embedded systems performance. Responsibilities include firmware development, hardware-software integration, flight testing support, and implementing safety-critical software including DO-178C compliance, debugging, code reviews, and continuous integration pipelines.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Embedded software certifications preferred (e.g., DO-178C) 7+ years of embedded C/C++ software development experience Proficiency in RTOS (FreeRTOS, VxWorks) and bare-metal programming Strong understanding of sensor fusion, flight control algorithms, and communication protocols Experience with STM32, ARM Cortex, or similar microcontrollers Excellent debugging and system optimization skills
  • Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, or custom flight stacks Knowledge of ROS/ROS2 and autonomous navigation systems Python scripting experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing
