Introduction

FE Associates, the further education sector’s leading provider of interim leadership solutions, are looking to the future. Each year our salaried team of consultants provide high-quality and specialist support at all levels of leadership to our college clients.

We are looking to expand our interim curriculum leadership team. If you have experience as a Curriculum Manager or Head of Department in curriculum or quality, we would like to hear from you.

About

Typically, a college will require an interim to address an urgent and challenging need. This may have been brought about by not being able to recruit to a permanent position, long-term sickness or to provide additional capacity because of the operating position of the organisation. Placements are typically between 3 and 6 months in duration but can often run for a longer period than that.

Our employed interim consultants are required to work anywhere in the country and go wherever we send them. As employees, our consultants have no choice in their placements and they can be required to work anywhere in the UK, although all our placements to date have been in England and Wales. This means that you are required to be away from home overnight and quite often this is for four or five nights a week. In the main, our clients require our consultants to be on site all week. Therefore, the individuals we employ must be able to be away from home during the week for extended periods of time.

Who we are Looking for

For this round of recruitment, we are interested in people who have held the roles of Curriculum Manager or Head of Department in further education colleges. We want people who have the following:

• Team leadership experience
• Quality and curriculum improvement experience
• Curriculum and Business Planning experience
• Recent Ofsted inspection experience
• Knowledge of core college operating systems and procedures
• Safeguarding trained
• Experience of working on short-term challenging projects.

In the main, our consultants at this level tend to have around 3-5 years’ experience at this level, although we are more concerned about your skills and abilities.

Most importantly, our consultants need to be client focused, problem solvers, solutions focused, flexible in attitude and approach, resilient, not afraid of challenge and putting in the necessary effort to get the job done.
