Opportunity Snapshot: Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Contract Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: March 2, 2026 Contract Length: 6–8 weeks (March 2 – April 11) Schedule: Night Shift — 19:00 to 07:30 Hours: 36 hours/week full-time, but open to any hours Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW) Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility / Long-Term Care EMR: Facility EMR with full access provided Call: None Clinical Environment This is a well-established skilled nursing facility and senior living community in Clinton, Iowa, providing long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, and memory care services. This is a Clinical Services department role supporting residents in a structured, team-based care environment with established workflows and support staff. Key Responsibilities Include: Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and care plans Monitor and document resident vital signs, conditions, and changes in status Provide direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting Coordinate with RNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary care team members Respond to resident needs and changes in condition during overnight shift Maintain accurate and timely documentation in facility EMR Support resident safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the shift Participate in shift-to-shift handoff and communication Candidate Requirements: Required: Active Iowa LPN license (or multistate compact license) Current BLS certification NIHSS certification Fingerprinting clearance required Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience Preferred: Experience with geriatric populations Familiarity with medication administration in a LTC/SNF setting Comfortable working independently on night shift Experience with memory care or dementia patients Skills & Abilities: Strong clinical assessment and observation skills Comfortable managing a resident caseload independently overnight Excellent communication with nursing and CNA staff during shift transitions Detail-oriented documentation practices Compassionate, patient-centered approach to resident care Why This Assignment?
