Teaching Assistant / HLTA – SEN (Autism & Complex Needs) Greenford, Ealing Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:45am – 3:45pm Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role Axcis Education is working in partnership with a supportive Primary Special Needs School in Greenford, Ealing, to recruit a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA for a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs within a structured and nurturing environment. Candidates with HLTA experience are highly desirable. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver personalised learning programmes and promote pupil development, independence, and inclusion. Key Responsibilities -Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome -Use communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to support learning and engagement -Support pupils with personal care where required -Assist in delivering and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) -Help create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment -Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress -Contribute to planning, review, and progress meetings -Support classroom teachers and lead activities where appropriate (HLTA experience beneficial) Requirements -Previous experience supporting children with Autism and/or complex needs -HLTA experience or qualifications would be highly advantageous -EYFS or SEND school experience desirable -Confidence using PECS and familiarity with Makaton -Willingness to provide personal care support -Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach -Ability to commit to full-time hours -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Why Join This School? -Supportive and welcoming staff team -Excellent SEND facilities and specialist resources -Opportunity for long-term development and training -Easily accessible via public transport across Ealing and Greenford
