About the Role
Our client, a leader in thermal process technology, has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer, to join their winning team in Stoughton.
Our candidate of choice will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the design, analysis, and manufacture of rotating industrial machinery and ASME code-stamped pressure vessels for a wide range of customers at the forefront of today’s process technologies. This position requires in-depth knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII Division 1, along with a demonstrated ability to produce ASME calculations and compliance documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and calculations of ASME code stamped pressure vessels.
Design and analyses of industrial rotating equipment.
Selection and verification of mechanical components including seals, bearings, motors, pumps, etc.
Generate and review project documentation including but not limited to:
Code calculations and design reports
Stress and deflection analysis
Tolerance analysis and resulting GD&T requirements
Technical specifications
CAD models and drawings for fabrication, machining, assembly, customer, etc.
Equipment and piping layouts
Design and manufacturing strategies
Development of conceptual designs for prototypes.
Design of lifting devices, fixtures and tooling for large-scale manufacturing operations.
Coordinate with cross functional stakeholders (manufacturing, quality, etc.) as required for project execution.
Review and verify compliance with technical specifications for both projects and components.
Conduct finite element analyses (FEA) as needed (structural and thermal) and communicate findings through presentations or reports tailored to diverse technical audiences.
Help develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, often as a cross-functional task.
Generate and review quality as well as departmental operating procedures.
Oversight and review of similar work from mechanical designers and less experienced engineers.
