<div><span>This position is a contract job opportunity with potential for permanent placement.</span></div> <div><span>The Role: Phlebotomist 4600 &#8211; Fluent in Spanish</span></div> <div><span>Location: Washington DC</span></div> <div><span>Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am &#8211; 6pm, with one Saturday shift per month</span></div> <div><span>Projected Duration: 3 months with potential for permanent placement</span></div> <div><span>Job Code: CVDJP00034600</span></div> <div><span> </span></div> <div><span>Employee benefits are available</span></div> <div><span><strong>Must be fluent in Spanish</strong></span></div> <div> </div> <div><span>Summary:</span></div> <div><span>The primary responsibility of a phlebotomist is to assist in various assigned tasks, provide troubleshooting, training, and make recommendations to improve workflow.</span></p> <p><span>Responsibilities:</span></div> <div><span>Experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, maintenance data recording, decontamination, patient information updates, and more. Follows established procedures for collecting and storing specimens. Clearly and courteously explains the venipuncture process or other specimen collection techniques. Demonstrates proficiency using straight and butterfly needles. Understands physicians&#8217; orders completely. Matches requisition forms to specimen tubes, labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens according to test orders. Ensures accuracy of test requisitions and specimen labeling. Prepares specimens for transport, stores samples at required temperatures, and follows specific protocol for transport. Complies with OSHA and DEP regulations, attends department trainings, and deals with inquiries regarding laboratory results.</span></p> <p><span>Minimum Qualifications: Valid Phlebotomy certification for state of employment where required. At least 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED.</span></div> <div><span>Minimum 1 year of experience required</span></div>
