About the Role

Manufacturing Engineer Salary: c.£40k DOE Location: South East The Company: Specialist in process measurement & control   The Role: Dealing with complex products and projects, Informing Others, Leadership, Supervision, Hardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information Establishes standard procedures and work instructions for the fabrication and build of the product both for new and existing products where needed. Works with the production team in a “hands on” fashion, supporting the build of product and communicating design deficiencies and/or recommendations for improvements/enhancements to the designers and design engineers Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. Completes design and development projects by training and guiding both internal and contract manufacturing teams. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends. Participates in design reviews and implementation of new or changed products to production Ability to establish Bill of Operations (routings) for all products, including time studies and efficiency evaluations Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to communicate at the employee, manager and upper management levels Ability to work with Tier 1 (And below) Sub-Contract Partners on producing products. Ability to work well in a team environment as well as work independently Must be available for travel, including Europe, Asia, and domestically up to 20%   Requirements: BS Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Minimum 5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience in a design and production environment. Experience with outsourced manufacturers Experience in design for manufacture Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (Pro E is a Plus) Proficient in creating Work Instructions for assembled products Proficient in MS Office products Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Lean principles and tools Experience with Oracle ERP systems is helpful Proven Track Record of manufacturing products inter-company as well as outsourcing. Strong attention to detail, highly accountable, performance and schedule driven Ability to review new and existing product designs for produce-ability, identifying areas for cost reductions (materials) and labour savings (both internal and external)
