<p><strong><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Support the Head of Building Control in the strategic development of the Building Control service and its operational and financial performance.</li>
<li>Contribute to the implementation of service initiatives at both departmental and corporate levels.</li>
<li>Oversee the delivery of statutory Building Control functions, including inspections, regulations, dangerous structures, and sports grounds safety.</li>
<li>Work closely with regeneration teams, neighbourhood services, and other internal departments to support joined‑up service delivery.</li>
<li>Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, residents, developers, and stakeholders to promote a responsive and proactive Building Control service.</li>
<li>Represent the Building Control service at meetings, forums, and cross‑authority initiatives at local, regional, and national levels.</li>
<li>Ensure regulatory activities support community needs and align with the council’s values and service standards.</li>
<li>Promote high standards of professionalism, customer service, and regulatory compliance at all times. </li>
