About the Role
Locum Planning Lawyer –– Up to £60 per hour umbrella – Initial 3+ months – South East England – Remote Working Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Planning Lawyer to join a reputable Local Authority in the South East on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy legal team with a variety of Planning matters. The Role: Position: Locum Planning Lawyer Duration: Initial 3 months with strong likelihood of extension Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella Working Pattern: Full Time or Part Time, Remote working (occasional office presence desirable but not essential) Key Responsibilities: Advising on Planning matters including s.106 agreements, enforcement matters, s.73 queries, and lawful development certificates. Acting on behalf of the Council’s clients and providing clear, pragmatic legal guidance. Supporting the team with an increased workload while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in planning law. Previous experience in Local Authority planning teams is highly desirable. Strong drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills. Confident in managing a varied caseload and delivering clear, pragmatic solutions under tight deadlines.
