A well-established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants based in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Business Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to take ownership of a varied client portfolio within a supportive, partner-led environment. The role will involve a strong mix of accounts, tax, and advisory work, with real client exposure and progression opportunities as the firm continues to expand.
Role Responsibilities
- Managing a mixed portfolio of owner-managed business clients.
- Acting as the primary day-to-day contact for clients.
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102 (Section 1A).
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts.
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and CT600s.
- Reviewing VAT returns and advising on VAT compliance.
- Working extensively with IRIS and Xero.
- Supporting client onboarding onto Xero.
- Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing on-the-job guidance.
- Supporting with Self Assessment and Partnership tax returns.
- Supporting MTD filing deadlines for ITSA.
- Preparing and reviewing capital allowance claims (desirable).
Personal Requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
- 3-6 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts and corporation tax.
- Strong working knowledge of IRIS and Xero.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational ability.
