About the Role

Embark on an exciting journey as the Costs Team Leader at a Legal 500 national firm, a nationally recognized law firm with a local reach. In this permanent role, you'll have the opportunity to lead, support, and develop a talented team of Trainees, Law Costs Draftsmen, and Costs Lawyers, driving high-quality delivery and strong performance in a fast-paced and evolving environment. - Become a key point of contact for senior stakeholders across your aligned locations, ensuring the service you and your team provide meets agreed standards and supports the wider firm.- Oversee the full spectrum of costs work, including supervising the preparation of Bills of Costs and court pleadings, providing technical guidance, and driving best practice across your team.- Play a vital role in motivating and engaging colleagues, championing continuous improvement, and supporting operational delivery across the wider Costs function. Preferred Requirements: Proven experience in a people leadership or team leader role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment. Strong operational leadership skills with the ability to manage, engage, and motivate a hybrid working team. Experience as a Law Costs Draftsperson or in an associated role. Ability to manage competing priorities, expectations, and stakeholder demands with resilience. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: A costs, legal, or financial qualification (e.g., ACL, ILEX, or similar). Experience reviewing and improving existing processes and standards. Working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, legal aid regulations, and costs processes.
