They bring together essential resources such as housing support, food access, and health services so students can thrive. MORE ABOUT COMMUNITY SCHOOLS Healthy Community SMART SOLUTIONS FOR HUNGER In Ottawa, Canada, the "Good Food Box" program delivered 20.6 tons of food to 2,000 residents. For more than 30 years, United Way East Ontario and Rideau Community Centre have partnered to improve food access by introducing urban farms, streamlining food bank systems, and building a community kitchen.  DISCOVER HUNGER SOLUTIONS Financial Security BUILDING ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE In India, United Way Chennai helps marginalized communities build sustainable livelihoods. Through vocational training in tailoring, palm leaf weaving, organic farming, and financial literacy, participants gain marketable skills, entrepreneurship support, and access to formal markets to strengthen their economic independence and inclusion. DISCOVER MORE Community Resiliency CLEANER MARKETS, STRONGER COMMUNITIES Through World Cleanup Day, United Way Greater Nigeria focused on high-pollution markets in Lagos and Port Harcourt. The campaign educated traders on waste management and recycling’s economic benefits. By providing tools and knowledge, it fostered cleaner communities, expanded economic opportunity, and inspired future environmental leaders.
