Complex Needs Assistant – Hastings

Full-Time | September 2026 Start

Engage Education is recruiting a Complex Needs Assistant to join a dedicated specialist setting in Hastings from September 2026.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities, autism, and communication needs, helping them access education in a safe and nurturing environment.

About the role:

• Providing specialist 1:1 and small group support
• Assisting pupils with complex learning and communication needs
• Supporting personal care where required
• Helping pupils access tailored learning activities
• Promoting independence and life skills
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
• Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and development
• Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment

About you:

• Experience supporting children or adults with additional needs is desirable
• Caring, compassionate, and resilient approach
• Comfortable supporting pupils with personal care if required
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Passionate about inclusive education
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
