About the Role
Your Challenge
In your role as Process Engineer, you will be responsible for operating an AIXTRON CCS or Planetary system in our application laboratory. You will serve as the direct contact for the Simulation and Design departments regarding process optimization and further development of reactor hardware. In addition, you will work closely with colleagues from Sales & Marketing and conduct system demonstrations to support customer acquisition. You will also contribute to cooperation projects with internal and external partners.
As a process engineer in the AIXTRON application laboratory, you will actively and independently shape the development and optimization of our deposition reactors and processes for compound semiconductor deposition
Thanks to your independent and well-coordinated working style, you will plan and manage cross-departmental projects to further develop our deposition processes and drive the evaluation of hardware prototypes
Your fascination with technology and your pursuit of perfection will motivate you to design and coordinate sometimes coompley test series with development projects
Turning data into information: With your structured and scientific analytical approach, you will recognize complex relationships and draw conclusions from experimental series
As a multiplier of our know-how, you will carefully analyze and document the knowledge and experience gained and share it with colleagues and team members
You will be able to adapt processes developed in the laboratory to customer requirements and transfer them to customer systems, making a key contribtuion to ensuring our customers' rapid success
Your Profile
You hold a degree in a scientific or technical field, e.g., Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a comparable qualification
During your studies and professional experience, you have developed solid expertise in CMOS technology, advanced material deposition, semiconductor processing, and solid-state physics. In addition, you possess in-depth knowledge of epitaxial growth processes for both Group III–V and Group IV materials, which you confidently apply in practice
You have process experience in semiconductor deposition, ideally using RPCVD on a commercial epitaxy system. Knowledge of other growth techniques such as MBE, ALD, or sputtering is also advantageous
You are experienced in handling various characterization methods and solid-state physics-related questions and have worked with measurement equipment
You have good written and spoken English skills
You are flexible and open to international travel (approximately 5–10%)
