Estimating Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estimating Engineer to join a well-established precision engineering business. The role offers the chance to contribute to high-value projects across aerospace, defence, medical, and other advanced manufacturing sectors, providing accurate costings and supporting efficient, cost-effective production. You’ll be working closely with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to prepare cost estimates, bids, and BOMs. This is a varied and challenging role, ideal for someone with strong mechanical engineering knowledge and experience in the CNC precision engineering sector. Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for customers. Compile bids and assist in agreeing contracts. Create routings and BOMs within ERP systems. Interpret technical drawings to define subcontracting needs and in-house processes. Skills & Experience Required: Minimum 3 years’ experience in cost estimating and BOM/routing creation within precision engineering (CNC). 5+ years in technical positions in the precision engineering industry. Mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent experience. Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes.
