This critical role offers a competitive salary based on experience, alongside a robust pension scheme, company vehicle, travel allowances, and exceptional opportunities for ongoing training and development. If you are a High Voltage Testing & Commissioning Engineer eager to contribute to an organization that prioritizes people, integrity, and technical excellence, we invite you to apply today with your CV. In this role, you will report to the Project Manager and carry out testing and commissioning for high-voltage systems (up to 132kV+), which includes responsibilities like protection relay testing, SCADA integration, and conducting both primary and secondary injection tests. You will be required to develop and deliver comprehensive commissioning plans, method statements, risk assessments, and switching schedules, ensuring each project adheres to the highest standards. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with SAPs, project managers, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery, alongside actively identifying and resolving any technical issues that arise on-site. Precision is essential, so you will produce accurate records, reports, and documentation for all commissioning activities, contributing to the continuous improvement of project practices by providing guidance to junior engineers. The ideal candidate will hold an HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, coupled with solid experience in HV commissioning, preferably within the utilities, renewables, or substations sectors. Proficiency with test equipment and systems such as Omicron, Megger, Micom, Siemens, ABB, and Schneider is essential. Current authorisations under industry safety rules, such as TP141, National Grid, and SSE, will be necessary, along with a strong understanding of Safe Systems of Work and RAMS. Additionally, candidates with an offshore background and GWO certifications will stand out, as will those with knowledge of SCADA systems and fibre optic intertrip protection. Excellent technical communication and reporting skills are required to thrive in this position. We seek a diligent, safety-minded, and well-organized individual who can adapt quickly and work effectively in fast-paced environments. You should be comfortable collaborating with colleagues and clients at all levels while being proactive in problem-solving with a hands-on approach. The role will also involve supporting and mentoring others within the team. The compensation package for the High Voltage Testing & Commissioning Engineer role includes a competitive salary tailored to your experience, along with a company vehicle and travel allowances, and a comprehensive pension scheme.
