<strong>HGV Class 1 Tanker Driver (C+E) – 3 Month FTC</strong><br>Howdon, Tyne & Wear<br>£37,756 per annum (£16.88 per hour)<br>Fixed Term Contract – 3 Months<br>up to 43 hours per week <br><br><strong>Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of Northumbrian Water for an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Tanker Driver based at Howdon.</strong><br><br>This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the region's leading utility companies, playing a key role in supporting wastewater operations across the North East.<br><br>As an HGV C+E Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for transporting sludge products from Northumbrian Water's sewage treatment works across the North East to treatment facilities at Bran Sands and Howdon.<br><br>Key responsibilities include:<br><br><ul><li>Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently<br><br></li><ul><li>Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and O-Licence requirements<br><br></li><li>Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting in line with DVSA standards<br><br></li><li>Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant vehicle at all times<br><br></li><li>Safely loading and unloading tanker equipment in accordance with Northumbrian Water Health & Safety procedures<br><br></li><li>Promoting and supporting the "Everyone Home Safe Everyday" culture<br><br></li><li>Driving in a fuel-efficient and environmentally responsible manner<br><br></li><li>Delivering excellent service whilst representing Northumbrian Water professionally<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>What We're Looking ForEssential requirements:</strong><br><ul><li>Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence<br><br></li><ul><li>Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience<br><br></li><li>Valid Driver CPC qualification<br><br></li><li>Valid Digital Tachograph Card<br><br></li><li>Good understanding of EU Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive<br><br></li><li>Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance<br><br></li></ul></ul><strong>Desirable:</strong><br><ul><li>Tanker driving experience (full training provided if not held)</li></ul><br>Important InformationThis role has been designated as a safety and security critical position.
