Position Summary
This position performs skilled duties related to the operation, repair, and maintenance of Hospital Central Plant equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, pumps, vacuum pumps, air compressors, softeners, generators, and other mechanical systems that support hospital utility services.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor Central Plant equipment including boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, and auxiliary systems
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment across the hospital campus
- Maintain functionality and reliability of utility systems supporting hospital operations
- Follow all safety regulations and operational procedures related to Central Plant systems
- Service and test water treatment systems and chemical treatment processes
- Support emergency generator operations and understand transfer switch functionality
- Respond to maintenance needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating, maintaining, and repairing:
- High-pressure steam boilers
- Chillers
- Pumps
- Vacuum pumps
- Air compressors
- Water softeners
- Generators
- Experience supporting utilities such as heating, air conditioning, and hospital facility systems
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Vocational school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Must have own tools
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed
