Job Description Our client is seeking an outstanding Finance Director to play a central role in shaping the financial strategy, commercial performance and long‑term sustainability of this people-led, project based consultancy. A true business partner to the Executive Leadership team, the Finance Director will provide insight, challenge and clear financial direction across the firm. The role will lead a large Finance function and take overall responsibility for financial reporting, governance, commercial planning, analysis, risk management, and systems improvement. A key aspect of the role will be partnering with regional and divisional leaders to drive profitability, commercial discipline and operational effectiveness. The Finance Director will also manage reporting to the parent company, Tetra Tech, ensuring compliance with all corporate, regulatory and statutory requirements. This is a highly influential leadership role, suited to an individual who can combine strategic vision with strong commercial acumen and the ability to navigate a complex, matrix‑managed organisation. The role will be a combination of office based, working from home, and travel to regional offices across the UK. The Successful Applicant We are looking for a commercially minded, forward‑thinking senior finance leader who can operate strategically while also engaging effectively with stakeholders across a diverse business. The ideal candidate will offer: A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Significant senior finance leadership experience with a proven ability to influence, challenge and partner with senior stakeholders. Strong strategic and commercial awareness, able to translate financial information into clear insight and actionable recommendations. Experience driving commercial performance, profitability and efficiency improvements. Previous exposure to an international or matrix‑managed organisation. Demonstrated success leading and developing high‑performing finance teams. Deep knowledge of financial governance, controls, compliance and risk management. A track record of improving finance systems, processes and reporting to enhance decision‑making and operational performance. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage non‑financial audiences. High levels of integrity, judgement and professional credibility.
