Waste and environmental services are critical to daily operations in every community, providing dependable, year-round career opportunities.</span></span></p><p></p><p><b><span><span>Compensation and Benefits</span></span></b></p><ul><li><p><span><span>Hourly Rate: $37.00 - $41.00/hour (DOE)</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>CDL Premium: Additional $1.00/hour for Class A or B CDL holders</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Shift Differential: +$1.50/hour for swing shift</span></span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Benefits Include: </b></p><ul><li><p>Medical, dental, and vision insurance</p></li><li><p>401(k) with company match</p></li><li><p>Paid time off, paid sick leave, and holidays</p></li><li><p>Ongoing training and professional development</p></li><li><p>Overtime pay, tool allowance, and employee recognition programs</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span><span>Schedule and Overtime</span></span></b></p><ul><li><p><span><span>Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Average 8-10 hours of overtime per week paid at 1.5x</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Swing shift differential applies</span></span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span><span>Key Responsibilities</span></span></b></p><ul><li><p><span><span>Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and trailers</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Use diagnostic tools and software such as Cummins Insite, Davie-4, and Allison DOC</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Perform DOT and OSHA safety inspections</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Complete MIG welding and basic fabrication as needed</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Test drive vehicles to verify repairs</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Accurately document work in maintenance systems</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Review and address Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures</span></span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span><span>Required Qualifications</span></span></b></p><ul><li><p><span><span>Minimum 3 years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Experience with diagnostics and repair of fleet equipment</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Valid Driver’s License; CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Welding experience preferred</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Knowledge of DOT and OSHA standards</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Ability to work independently and on a team</span></span></p></li><li><p><span><span>Must have own basic tools</span></span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span><span>SAFETY SENSITIVE: YES</span></span></b></p><p></p><div><p>To be considered for any of our current openings, you must complete an application at www.careers.wasteconnections.com.
