About the Role

About The Role Please note : This role is due to start in September 2026 Avanti House Secondary School is looking for an inspiring Teacher of Economics to join our thriving school community. You will teach a subject that equips students with the knowledge and skills to understand the world around them, think critically about complex issues, and make informed decisions about their future. Through well-planned, engaging and challenging lessons, you will motivate students to achieve their full potential and develop confidence in applying economic thinking to real-world contexts. In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching, contribute to curriculum planning and assessment, and play an active part in developing and strengthening the Economics provision across the school. You will track student progress closely, using assessment and feedback to inform your teaching and ensure strong outcomes for all learners. There will also be opportunities to contribute to enrichment activities and wider curriculum initiatives, helping to broaden students’ engagement with the subject beyond the classroom. Plan and deliver high-quality Economics lessons that support the progress, attainment and engagement of all students. Use assessment, feedback and data effectively to monitor progress, set targets and adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs. Create a safe, respectful and purposeful learning environment, maintaining high expectations of behaviour and safeguarding all pupils. Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external partners, contributing to curriculum development and the wider life of the school. Uphold professional standards, engage in continuous development, and actively support the ethos and values of the school and trust.
