About the Role

<p><strong>Director of Engineering (Climate tech)</strong></p> <p>Location – Central London</p> <p>Salary &#8211; £130k &#8211; £150k + equity options</p> <p>Neulinx have partnered with a fast-growing climate tech scaleup (currently 20 people) on a mission to make home energy more efficient and significantly reduce carbon emissions. With strong government backing and significant funding, they are scaling up and looking for a <strong>Director of Engineering</strong> to lead their tech function as they expand.</p> <p>This is a hybrid role (London-based) with the opportunity to shape the future of a high-impact, purpose-driven business—with a clear path to CTO.</p> <p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>As <strong>Director of Engineering</strong>, you’ll take full ownership of the engineering function, leading a talented team of 10 engineers while working closely with leadership to drive technical strategy.</p> <p><strong>You’ll be responsible for:</strong></p> <p>• Building and scaling the engineering team, ensuring high performance and a strong technical culture.</p> <p>• Defining and executing the technical roadmap, working alongside product teams.</p> <p>• Leading full-stack development across React, TypeScript, and Python.</p> <p>• Ensuring scalability, security, and performance as the company grows.</p> <p>• Collaborating with leadership to develop the long-term technical vision.</p> <p>• Driving innovation in sustainable home heating and energy efficiency.</p> <p>• Progressing into a CTO position as the company scales.</p> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p> <p>• Experience leading engineering teams in a startup or scaleup environment.</p> <p>• Strong full-stack engineering background (React, TypeScript, Python).</p> <p>• A track record of scaling teams and systems in a fast-moving business.</p> <p>• A leadership style that fosters collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.</p> <p>• Passion for sustainability and building tech that makes a real-world impact.</p> <p>• Experience working in a climate tech, energy, or similar mission-driven industry is a plus.</p> <p><strong>What’s in It for You?</strong></p> <p>• Great salary+ equity options in a fast-growing, well-funded climate tech scaleup.</p> <p>• A hybrid role (London-based) with flexibility.</p> <p>• The chance to lead and shape the future of a high-impact company.</p> <p>• Clear progression to CTO as the company scales.</p> <p>• The opportunity to work on technology that directly contributes to a greener future.</p> <p><strong>Ready to apply?</strong></p> <p>Please upload a copy of your latest CV and we can arrange a time to discuss the role further.</p>
