About the Role
<p>An RCVS-accredited, purpose-built veterinary hospital is seeking an experienced Surgical Veterinary Surgeon to join a large, skilled clinical team. The hospital offers advanced facilities, including on-site CT, and manages a varied and complex surgical caseload.</p>
<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Permanent position (full-time or part-time)</p>
<li>
<p>Salary: £60,000–£75,000 (pro rata), dependent on experience and qualifications</p>
<li>
<p>Fixed day off per week</p>
<li>
<p>No regular out-of-hours duties</p>
<li>
<p>Primarily hospital-based with one operating day at a branch practice</p>
<li>
<p>Weekend rota: 1 in 4</p>
</ul>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Perform routine, advanced, and emergency surgical procedures</p>
<li>
<p>Advanced procedures to include TPLO and patella luxation (mentorship available if required)</p>
<li>
<p>Accept surgical referrals within scope of competence</p>
<li>
<p>Post-operative care and case management</p>
<li>
<p>Work closely with nursing and support teams</p>
<li>
<p>Support and mentor junior vets, including VetGDP</p>
<li>
<p>Maintain CPD and clinical best practice</p>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>MRCVS registered</p>
<li>
<p>Significant surgical experience</p>
<li>
<p>Postgraduate certificate (PgC) in surgery or working towards one preferred</p>
<li>
<p>Orthopaedic experience desirable</p>
<li>
<p>Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills</p>
<li>
<p>Compassionate, professional approach to patients and clients</p>
