Senior Materials Laboratory Technician Compensation
The pay for this position is $33.00 per hour.
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates.
Senior Materials Laboratory Technician Highlights
This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs.
The required availability for this position is Full-Time, On-Site (standard business hours).
Senior Materials Laboratory Technician Responsibilities
Perform batch mixing, compounding, and extrusion of various material types.
Interpret data, identify trends, and provide conclusions and solutions.
Conduct testing and experiments and generate technical reports.
Operate materials characterization and testing equipment.
Support test request workflows and improve test plans.
Maintain lab calibration, equipment health, and overall lab operations.
Manage chemical inventory and MSDS documentation.
Oversee lab supplies and purchasing processes.
Troubleshoot equipment or methods and support upgrades.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
Support audits and maintain lab housekeeping standards.
Mentor junior technicians when applicable.
Senior Materials Laboratory Technician Requirements
Bachelorâs Degree in Science or Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience.
Experience operating mechanical measurement equipment (e.g., Instron).
Experience with at least two materials characterization methods (Coefficient of Friction, FTIR, SEM/EDS, DSC, TGA).
Knowledge of regulatory and quality standards (ISO, FDA, OSHA, ASTM).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to lift resin barrels as needed.
High School Diploma or GED
Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days.
Senior Materials Laboratory Technician Preferred Qualifications
Experience with polymer compounding and processing (extrusion, injection molding, compression molding, batch mixing).
Knowledge of statistical analysis and test report generation.
Familiarity with CFR Title 21 and cGLP principles.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
