Strategic Lead

Interim Strategy and Partnerships Lead  

Based in London, hybrid working (2/3 days a week onsite)

Length: 3-6 months

We are seeking an interim Strategy & Partnerships Lead to play a hands-on role in coordinating this work and ensuring the council’s strategic priorities translate into clear delivery plans and partnership activity.

The Council is preparing for a significant period of strategic development as they approach the upcoming election and the possibility of a new administration. Alongside this, the council is refreshing its corporate strategy, developing a new Council Delivery Plan, and shaping a new transformation portfolio.

Key responsibilities;

• Lead development of the council’s next Council Delivery Plan (CDP)
• Support the refresh of the corporate strategy in the context of the election and potential new administration
• Coordinate strategic planning activity across departments
• Strengthen and manage relationships with key borough and regional partners
• Initiate and support policy-led change activity linked to the emerging Target Operating Model and transformation programme
• Produce strategic briefings and analysis to support senior leadership decision making

We are looking for someone who;

• Has strong experience in corporate strategy, policy or planning
• Is comfortable operating in a politically aware environment
• Can move between strategy and practical delivery
• Has strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Brings a structured, hands-on approach to driving strategic work forward
