Cheshire West and Chester Public Protection Service has a permanent position for Regulatory Services Assistant. The post sits within our multifunctional Regulatory Services team. Comprising of Trading Standards, Environmental Health, Licensing and Health and Safety professionals, the service carries out a wide range of enforcement and compliance functions to protect residents and support businesses across the borough.
The role of Regulatory Services Assistant within our busy Triage team offers an insight into the work of Regulatory Services. You will be responsible for assessing and triaging enquires across a range of regulatory areas, carrying out initial investigation and evidence gathering for environmental crime offences such as fly tipping and abandoned vehicles, undertaking business compliance visits and assisting officers in various professional functions as needed. You will gain valuable experience of the professional fields that make up the service and the different career paths that are available to explore. You will increase knowledge across key enforcement functions, learn about the corporate and political make up of our local authority and as part of a forward-thinking service, will play a part in making a real difference to the local community.
We are looking for individuals who are diligent and motivated with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload is key, you will be able to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with members of the public, partner agencies and other stakeholders. 5 GSCEs or equivalent including Maths and English language are essential.
The role is a hybrid flexible role meaning you will be expected to work at home and at a range of offices across the Borough as determined by the needs of the service. You will be expected to work evenings and weekends on an occasional basis. A driving licence is essential.
