About the Role
We are recruiting for a well-established company in the Construction and Civil Engineering sector. They are looking for an experienced HGV Fitter / Technician to maintain and repair a fleet of LGV and HGV vehicles, ensuring full compliance with Operator Licence requirements.
This is a secure, long-term role with strong earning potential and consistent overtime.
The Role
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a mixed commercial vehicle fleet to ensure maximum uptime and safety.
Key responsibilities:
Service, maintain and repair HGVs and associated equipment
Prepare vehicles for MOTs and annual tests
Road test vehicles to confirm roadworthiness
Complete defect reports and workshop documentation
Carry out inspections within required timeframes
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
Work efficiently and in line with Health & Safety procedures
Requirements
Proven experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles
IRTEC certification (essential)
Knowledge of Safe Loading Working Devices
Ability to diagnose and repair specialist equipment
NVQ or equivalent qualification (preferred, not essential)
HGV licence (advantageous, not essential)
Hours and Pay
Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm
Minimum 45 hours per week
Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required
£45,000-£55,000 per year plus overtime
