About the role:
Justteachers is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school in Bradford seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time position and offers the opportunity to secure a permanent role for the right candidate.
The school is looking for a committed individual with experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning, development, and overall well-being within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
- Support students with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs, and other support staff to deliver tailored learning strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and confidence.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback where required.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care, residential, or similar setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
