About the Role
Special Needs Class Teacher – September Start (Permanent, Pay to Scale) Fulltime
Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a real difference? We are seeking a Special Needs Class Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive team, working with children who require a highly tailored, therapeutic approach to learning.
The Role
Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching to small groups of children (typically 3–7 pupils)
Plan and adapt learning to meet a wide range of special educational needs, including SEMH and ASC
Create a safe, structured, and therapeutic classroom environment that promotes emotional and academic progress
Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants and wider professionals
Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with statutory requirements
Contribute to a creative, child-centred curriculum that supports curiosity and development
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching children with additional needs, particularly SEMH and/or autism
Strong classroom management skills with a calm, consistent approach
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with hard-to-reach children
A reflective, resilient, and adaptable teaching style
Commitment to safeguarding and child-centred practice
Excellent communication and organisational skills
