Senior Accountant - Piece of Cake

Summary of Position

Piece of Cake, the newest acquisition by Chicken Salad Chick, has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant as we build out the Finance Team. The team member will assist in all aspects of the integration, as well as being responsible for booking and analyzing financial transactions including daily sales reports, reconciling bank statements and cash deposits, booking monthly journal entries, handling vendor payments, and providing analytical support to this growing brand. This individual will have the opportunity to interact with and support various departments and levels of management across both Piece of Cake and Chicken Salad Chick.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Reconcile daily deposits (this includes cash, credit card, and other)

• Enter daily sales reports into accounting software

• Maintain A/R subledger and coordinate with sales department to ensure proper tracking of receivables related to large corporate orders

• Conduct periodic reconciliations of financial accounts to ensure their accuracy including monthly reconciliations of bank accounts

• Reconcile and maintain monthly inventory entries

• Process and pay vendor invoices according to terms

• Prepare manual journal entries and run the monthly close process

• Assemble information for external auditors during the annual audit

• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, including sales and use tax filings

• Create and conduct financial and strategic analysis

• Any other duties as assigned by the Controller or management team

Qualifications

• College degree in Accounting or related field is required

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

• Outstanding communication (written & verbal), presentation, time management, and organizational skills

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products

• Desire to learn and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement

• Ability to work independently (4 days in office + 1 day remote)
