Starting as a supervisor and advancing to Field Beauty Sales Coordinator, he has combined a passion for beauty with a commitment to helping customers feel confident while mentoring others along the way. In this Q&A, Jahanzaib shares his career journey, what keeps him motivated and how CVS Health® creates lasting impact for customers and colleagues alike.
How does your work help simplify health care for the people and communities we serve?
Being a skincare enthusiast was enough to get into Beauty program. As a coordinator I was able to build community by taking the stress out of their daily routines. I work with my team where it gives people access to products that make them feel confident and it gives better sense of direction. But deep-down couple things I find that help simplify even more is to understand that beauty isn’t just about finding the products – it is how you feel inside. Sometimes I feel it’s also kind of a matchmaker where I can help people find the right products and educate them to boost their confidence and my team’s just to help them simplify their routine.
What inspired you to join #TeamCVS and what motivates you to continue working here?
CVS has always been there since I was very young. Anytime we needed to grab something real-quick or were on road trips we just always looked for CVS. It sure has been a little over 10 years that I started as a supervisor; led to being Beauty Consultant and now coordinator really shows when you really enjoy what you do; the team you work with and the amount of support and guidance you get from your superiors makes you do nothing but the best. Now I get to share the knowledge with my team, sharing the kindness and giving them the tips to achieve nothing but the greatness.
Can you share a moment when you felt proud knowing your work made health care simpler, safer, or more compassionate for someone?
When I started as a Beauty Consultant, I remember once I had a lady walk who became my regular shopper who at that time was having acne issue. She was frustrated from not being able to see the results from products – as she was just few months away from her wedding. After having a thorough consultation for having a full 3-month routine, I asked her to let her skin rest using only gentle cleanser and light moisturizer and SPF and come back following week. Following week when she came back, I could tell her skin needed a rest and we went over a proper daytime and nighttime skincare routine.
Two weeks later when she came it already had started to make difference. As her routine sat and gradually added/altered her routine to her need. Through a two and half month period we were able to not only get rid of acne but tackled her dark spots, post acne, dullness concerns and had her Ready for Wedding Glow. She brought back some selfies after her wedding - so impressed that her makeup artist even pointed out the difference her routine made. This is one of many moments I can recall that showed how your knowledge can make a big difference; big enough to boost their confidence within them from not getting cold feet.
If you could speak directly to someone considering joining CVS Health, what would you want them to know about working here?
I have been with #teamCVS little over 10 years and if that doesn’t tell anything well let me. I proudly tell them how amazing these years really have been. Throughout the years I learnt that you are limiting yourself if you are surrounded with opportunities. This is the company where I connected with many people, people I am learning from and being able to teach them. expanding the horizon to sock in the goodness.
What is something people might be surprised to learn about your work and its impact?
It thrills and excites me whenever I tell people that CVS has Beauty program and it is not just a pharmacy in your neighborhood. It may surprise that the amount of coordination and malleability goes into this position. It is not just about moving products; I train and empower my beauty consultants to listen to customers’ specific needs so we can offer tailor solutions. Paying attention to that detail turns a quick trip to CVS into relationship of trust. Being able to connect and built that relationship with our consumers one on one is exactly what makes me want to do what I do.
