<p><strong>Specialist Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal Referrals</strong></p>
<p>We are seeking a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon to join a busy, dedicated small animal orthopaedic referral practice in a beautiful rural setting. This is an excellent opportunity for vets who are highly experienced in orthopaedic surgery and are looking to work in a supportive, specialist-led environment.</p>
<p><u><strong>About the Practice</strong></u></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Modern, purpose-built referral facility with 3 operating theatres and on-site CT.</p>
<li>
<p>Fully equipped to perform a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, including THR, TPLO, CUE, arthroscopy, and complex fracture management.</p>
<li>
<p>Supportive team includes an RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, a residency-trained surgeon, an RCVS Advanced Practitioner, and an Orthopaedic Intern.</p>
</ul>
<p><u><strong>The Role</strong></u></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p><strong>Full-time or part-time</strong> (especially interested in 2–3 day per week candidates)</p>
<li>
<p>Competitive salary (dependent on experience)</p>

<p>Contribute to an equal share of the out-of-hours rota (minimal and non-overnight)</p>
<li>

<p><u><strong>Candidate Requirements</strong></u></p>
<p>Applicants must hold:</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>A veterinary qualification recognised by the RCVS that allows practice in the UK</p>
<li>
<p>RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics) or have passed the RCVS/ECVS/ACVS diploma examinations</p>
<li>
<p>Proven experience performing complex orthopaedic procedures in dogs and cats</p>
<li>
<p>Strong understanding of pre- and post-operative patient management</p>
<li>
<p>Excellent communication skills for liaising with referring veterinarians, clients, and multidisciplinary teams</p>
<li>
<p>Commitment to high standards of clinical care, teaching, and professional development</p>
</ul>
<p><u><strong>Desirable Attributes</strong></u></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Experience mentoring junior surgeons or residents</p>
<li>
<p>Involvement in research or publications in small animal orthopaedics</p>
<li>
<p>Interest in contributing to training and clinical discussions within the practice</p>
</ul>

<ul>

<p>Rural setting with excellent local amenities, including restaurants and cafes</p>

<p>Approximately 30 miles from London with frequent rail services under an hour</p>
<li>
<p>Vibrant South Coast within easy reach, including Brighton </p>
