About the Role
<h2><strong>🚀 BDR Manager (Foundational GTM | AI Voice & RCS)</strong></h2>
<p><strong>Clerk Chat</strong> is building AI-powered voice and messaging (RCS/SMS) agents for high-volume, performance-driven revenue organizations. Our customers operate in complex, regulated environments where speed to lead, contact rates, and conversion efficiency directly drive revenue.</p>
<p>We’re hiring a <strong>foundational BDR Manager</strong> to build our sales development engine from zero, owning pipeline generation, outbound strategy, and AI-powered automation across inbound and outbound.</p>
<p>This is a <strong>hands-on leadership role</strong> for a self-starter who wants to build, not inherit.</p>

<h3><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Build and scale Clerk Chat’s BDR function from the ground up</li>
<li>Hire, onboard, and coach high-performing BDRs</li>
<li>Own top-of-funnel pipeline across inbound + outbound motions</li>
<li>Design and run a high-output, multi-channel outbound engine (calls, email, LinkedIn, RCS)</li>
<li>Break into complex, multi-stakeholder accounts with high lead velocity and strict compliance needs</li>
<li>Partner closely with Sales on account strategy and pipeline targets</li>
<li>Own BDR KPIs: meetings set, SQOs, pipeline created, and conversion rates</li>
<li>Build and operate AI-first workflows using tools like <strong>Clay, Make, Lemlist, and LLMs</strong></li>
<li>Experiment, iterate, and scale new outbound plays as the market evolves</li>

<li>Excited about AI, automation, and creating leverage with modern GTM tools</li>

<h3><strong>Requirements</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>4–7+ years in sales or sales development</li>
<li>2–4+ years managing or leading BDR/SDR teams</li>
<li>Proven success owning pipeline targets and outbound motions</li>
<li>Experience building or scaling GTM processes from scratch</li>
<li>Strong analytical and coaching skills</li>
<li>Experience with CRM, sequencing tools, and sales analytics</li>
</ul>

<h3><strong>Strongly Preferred</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience selling AI, voice, messaging, or API-first products</li>
<li>Familiarity with high-volume lead environments and compliance-driven workflows</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with <strong>Clay, Make, enrichment tools, or custom GTM automation</strong></li>
<li>Track record developing BDRs into AEs</li>
