About the Role
Head of Innovation – Advanced Materials Location: Houston, TX (Relocation available for the right candidate) Compensation: $140,000 – $170,000 base salary + full benefits Direct Hire, Full Time Role About the Role We are seeking a Head of Innovation – Advanced Materials to lead a global R&D organization focused on developing cutting-edge solutions across adhesives, coatings, composite repair, and protective technologies. In this high-impact, Director-level role, you’ll guide product development teams worldwide, shaping i nnovation strategy , and play a key role in bringing teams together to build a strong, collaborative technical culture. You’ll help drive the next generation of solutions that support infrastructure protection and repair while making a real impact on the business and the industries we serve. This leader will play a critical role in bringing together multiple teams into a unified organization, fostering a collaborative culture, and aligning innovation efforts with business goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a global team of ~30–35 engineers and scientists across multiple regions Drive the innovation strategy and product development roadmap for infrastructure protection and repair solutions Oversee a portfolio of technologies including coatings, composite repair, corrosion protection, and structural solutions Integrate and align teams into a cohesive, high-performing organization Establish and track KPIs, ensuring strong execution and continuous improvement Partner with customers to understand needs and support key technical opportunities Collaborate with external partners including suppliers, research institutions, and industry experts Build strong cross-functional relationships across global R&D and business teams Coach and develop talent while maintaining high engagement and retention Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Advanced degree ( Master’s or PhD) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field preferred 10+ years of experience in adhesives, coatings, sealants, composites, or related materials technologies Strong background in product development, engineering, or applied R&D within industrial applications Proven experience leading large technical teams (15+; ideally 30+) Demonstrated success in building, scaling, or transforming teams/organizations Strong leadership skills , including coaching, influencing, and conflict resolution Strategic mindset with the ability to connect innovation efforts to business impact Excellent communication and collaboration skills across global teams Must be a U.S. Citizen - No sponsorship can be provided now or in the future Sirius Staffing is an equal opportunity employer.
